Florida's Appeal Withstands
Homebuyers and investors continue to flock to Florida, despite the threat of hurricanes. They typically are drawn to the region by reasonable property prices, scenic views and the climate. Hurricane Charley hit Punta Gorda in August 2004 and razed 12,000 residences. However, single-family existing home sales there rose 6 percent last November from the same month in 2003, according to FAR records. During the year-over-year period ended December 2004, sales surged 26 percent. Posted by Donald Urschalitz P.A. at September 27, 2005 05:25 PM |
